I’m feeling much less grumpy today.
I took myself on a half a mile walk up the road to the darling little French bakery that makes the most divine macarons, fetched from Heaven.
Then I took myself and bought the vape I’ve been coveting.
In between, I took some showers, smoked some cigarettes, and read a great deal. Inevitably, I’ll end up showering again, as I feel slightly sticky due to the sweltering heat.
I always think of that Harper Lee quote on days like these:
“Ladies bathed before noon, after their three o’clock naps, and by nightfall were like soft teacakes with frostings of sweat and sweet talcum.”
I brewed some praline and petrichor scented coffee from Seattle and added some Italian sweet cream to enjoy and adore with my macarons. I made headway with the book. I’m tempted to nap, but naps always make me slightly grumpy after I take one.
I suppose that’s all I need, a great deal of walking, a good shower, a pack of cigarettes, and a cache of literature.
